If you have a Build-a-Bear near, that would be a fun gift for him to give to her. We did that with Audrey for Olivia. And actually I think we did that for Claire's first birthday, but it starts to get hazy when you have more. And poor Gigi...her birthday party was 3 1/2 months late! :)
I do remember the little voice box we put in the frog from A to O. She said, "Happy Birthday Olivia! I love you." Unfortunately, I washed it and ruined the voice box, but I can still hear her little voice when I think about it.
